Managing Photo Albums in the CMS

Learn how to create, publish, and organize photo albums in the CMS, plus add, delete, and reorder images easily.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to create and title a new album
  • How to publish/unpublish albums so they’re visible (or hidden) on the site
  • How to reorder albums in the navigation menu
  • How to add, delete, and reorder photos within an album

Step-by-Step

  1. Create a New Album
    • Navigate to the Photo Albums CMS Collection.
    • Click New Album and give it a clear, descriptive title (e.g., “Spring 2025 Arts Program”).
  2. Control Album Visibility
    • Use the Visible on Website toggle to publish or hide the album.
    • Published albums will automatically appear on the Photos page.
  3. Reorder Albums in the Menu
    • Adjust the Order field for each album to control how they’re displayed in the navigation.
    • Lower numbers appear first; higher numbers appear later.
  4. Add & Manage Photos
    • Inside the album, click Add Image to upload new photos.
    • To remove an image, click the trash icon beside it.
    • To change the order, drag and drop the images into the sequence you want.

Tips & Notes

  • Keep album super titles short and specific so visitors can quickly find what they’re looking for.
  • Larger images may take longer to load–optimizing photo sizes before upload will keep the site fast.
  • Unpublishing an album doesn’t delete it; it just hides it from the public site.
