Join us for a relaxing and creative 4-week Crochet & Knitting Summer Series at the PCRC! This beginner-friendly workshop series is open to tweens, teens, and adults impacted by the 2025 LA fires who are interested in learning the basics of crochet or knitting in a supportive, community-centered environment.
Over the course of four weekly 1.5-hour sessions, participants will build foundational skills step-by-step, including how to hold yarn and tools, create basic stitches, understand stitch structure, and complete simple projects. Whether you are completely new to fiber arts or looking to refresh your skills, this series is designed to help participants grow their confidence and creativity at a comfortable pace.
Participants will choose to focus on either crochet or knitting throughout the series and will receive hands-on guidance, opportunities for practice, and support troubleshooting projects along the way. By the end of the series, participants will leave with completed beginner projects and the skills to continue crafting independently.
Because each session builds upon the previous week’s lessons, registration is for the full 4-week series (July 9, 16, 23, 30) and participants are encouraged to attend all sessions. Space is limited to 10 participants in order to maintain a personalized learning experience.
Materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to take their yarn and tools home between sessions to continue practicing and working on their projects.
No prior experience is necessary.
